How to use the Identities section

3 min read

The identities section is the most important section of the Meo Workspace. This is where all of the data of all of your AML clients is located and is the core part of the platform.

There is a couple of things we would like to expand on in this article:

  • Searching
  • Filters
  • Tagging
  • Adding identities
    • Request
    • Import
    • Add placeholder
  • Mass actions

Searching

You can do a text search to find the entity you are looking for. When doing a text search, it will search for the following items:

  1. Primary name of the person or company
  1. Primary email of the person or company
  1. All tags of the person or company

There is also the option of doing more advanced searching, with searching for full strings and omitting certain results. Some of the options are:

  • Quotes - Setting a sentence in quotation marks will make it an exact search. For example searching for “Jane Doe” will only match if precisely “Jane Doe” is in any of the values - “Doe Jane” would not be found, as it would if the search was not in quotation marks.
  • Remove elements from search - Setting a minus in front of a word will omit any results with that word. For example, searching for Jane -Doe will give a result of all values with Jane that does not also have Doe in any of the values.

Filters

You can apply filters to limit the view of your entities, both persons and companies. Some of the filters are nationality, risk score, status, active notifications, PEP status, etc.

You can match filters with a search to get a very precise search result.

Tags

Tags is a very useful tool to create order or structure in your client portfolio. You can use tags in any way that will help you order your clients. Many of our clients are tagging their clients with a case number, client number, or similar.

Adding identities

The identities section is, as the name suggests, also the section where you can add new identities. There are three ways to add new identities to the system:

  • Create a request for information. This is the primary way to request data from your clients.
  • Add a placeholder - A placeholder is an internal profile that you can add data to. This is useful for existing clients or for clients that have shared their information with you through other means that the onboarding processes.
  • Import a company - Importing a company is an small flow where you will be guided through:
    • Finding the correct company
    • Getting the data from a company information source (e.g. the Danish CVR, Creditsafe, OpenCorporates, Compass (for Austrian companies), etc.). We are continuously adding new data sources.
    • Choosing which of the related UBOs, management, board of directors, etc. that you want to create a profile for.
    • Set up PEP, sanction lists and adverse media screenings - read more about those here.

Mass actions

If you select any identity by clicking in the square box next to their name, then you will see a list of new options.

The exact options can vary, depending on your workspace setup. Please contact care@meo.io for more information.

The available options are:

  • Request - used to send a request to multiple persons.
  • Download CSV - used to download a list of the selected identities. Very useful for any type of reporting.
  • Request report approval - used to send an approval request for approval of multiple persons and companies.
  • Screen identity - used to bulk create screenings on many persons and companies at once.
  • Monitor selected companies - used to enable monitoring for company information when coming from a registry that supports monitoring. See our overview here.
  • Manage tags for selected identities - Used to add or remove tags from multiple persons or companies at the same time.
  • Delete all access - A bulk identity deletion action. Use with caution.
